Important Steps to Keeping Your Intranet Sticky

All of the points Langdon Morris and Tim Dorey bring up are valid, but a few of them seem worth focusing on:
Create New Content Daily: Think about the sites you go to on a regular basis. Chances are they update their content frequently (daily, if not hourly). In order for staff to use a site regularly, there must be content that draws them in. This experiment weíre starting with weblogs is one way to provide fresh content.
Find out What they Want to Know: This seems like such a no-brainer that it isnít even worth mentioning. But Iíve found that most web projects, no matter how well intentioned, skip this step. Figuring out what will be useful for the users should be the first order of business in any web project (not just intranets). If anything, figuring out the needs of your own staff is logistically easier than dealing with a more hypothetical user population.
